The Domo pendants, like the coveted Domo sconces, are shaped by the past, through artisanal craft and modernism. Its design, is a nod to 1920’s Art Deco. A pivotal movement for the material of alabaster and craftsmanship thanks to the iconic Pierre Chareau.
The subtle hand-carved curve reveals the stone's beautiful coloration, natural veining and incredible depth. Once illuminated the alabasters translucency defuses a warm glow through a subtle sculptural silhouette.
Much like marble, our alabaster undergoes millions of years of formation in the hills of Northern Italy and it's the very nature of the stone that shapes its pattern. This pattern is only revealed through a traditional hand-carving process that dates back to 1895.
Distinguished Italian sculptors like Michelangelo utilized alabaster to highlight the mineral’s translucent quality that emits a warm glow when illuminated.
The Domo pendant can stand alone or be grouped together, serving as primary or secondary light sources in an entry, stairwell or above a dining table.
